SANFORD–Many homes were lost when tornadoes touched down in Lee County on April 1
April 16, 2011. Jobs were lost and many people were left homeless for quite some
time. People have had difficulty getting back on their feet.
Many agencies provided assistance such as United Way, Salvation Army, etc. Without the help the agencies provided, many would have suffered even greater hardship. Now,
the Salvation Army needs help. Ashley Laton, store manager, said donations and contributions seem to have dried up. She said the need is great.
